Four Reasons Your Hotel Needs Monthly Pest Control

Four Reasons Your Hotel Needs Monthly Pest Control | San Joaquin Pest ControlRunning a hotel sounds like an awful lot of work to me, but I bet that’s true of most professions. I’m sure to outsiders, pest control seems like an awful lot of work, too. We’re dealing with massive pest populations in small areas, trying to exterminate every last little bug in an entire home. When it comes to pest populations like termites, this can be a tall order. Termites are so small, it can feel impossible trying to hunt them all down. That’s why widespread termite infestations are dealt with via structural fumigation – it’s the only method that can permeate every inch of the home.

If you’re running a hotel, you have an even bigger problem to worry about (or should I say smaller?). Hotels are notorious for bed bug issues, which is one of the reasons you should invest in monthly pest control. A bed bug infestation is horrific for business – just ask the Lodi Stadium 12 Theater. Lodi’s only multiplex was overrun with the critters a couple of Christmases ago, and the publicity was terrible. But by investing in monthly pest control, you can stop a bed bug infestation before it gets out of hand – or at least have a pest control company on call in the event an infestation does suddenly pop up.

Need some more reasons? Here are three additional:

1. The Valley is a Haven for Pest Issues

In case you haven’t heard, California has one of the world’s strongest agricultural economies. But with all those crops out there, that means there’s plenty of food available for pests. Farmers utilize pesticides to protect their crops, but you can’t keep every plant safe all the time. The result is a robust pest population that keeps finding ways to get food – sometimes, even taking it from your home.

2. You Probably Can’t Afford the Bad Publicity

They say no publicity is bad publicity, but those folks probably never had a bed bug issue. I know I mentioned the Lodi Stadium 12 before, but let me offer another, more relevant example. Last year, the Franco Center apartments in Stockton finally dealt with a long gestating bed bug problem. How? By fumigating the entire structure. Witnessing a massive tent covering a multi-story building was quite a sight, and it was also all over the news. I assume the Franco Center isn’t having an easy time attracting residents these days.

3. Bed Bugs Aren’t the Only Concern

Termites are another big one, because they are a relentless eating force. Termites don’t need to sleep or rest – they just need to eat wood. Fortunately, a termite infestation takes a significant amount of time to get out of hand. But that doesn’t mean you should allow it to persist.

Monthly pest control services will provide regular termite inspections, so that infestations are identified very early on. That will ensure the termites can’t inflict too much damage before they’re discovered.
